At last, it’s time to raise the beauty level of your Shamisen’s robe! These patterned Naga Fukuro are sized for Tsugaru Shamisen, although it will fit other styles (it will just be a little loose fitting).

This fukuro is used if the dou (shamisen body) removed from the sao (neck). The skin requires the most protection, so if you have a an extra dou, keep it safe in a dou fukuro.

This fukuro is only for a dissasembled mitsuori (three-piece neck) shamisen.

This fukuro is made of rice paper. It is put over the dou to keep the skin free of moisture.

Although a Bachi Case is very sturdy and a great protector for your bachi, if you already store your bachi in a shamisen case (such as a Pack Case), the extra “box inside a box” isn’t really necessary. In this situation, the Bachi Fukuro will protect your bachi from scratches against other items in your case, and you can easily slip it out when you’re ready to play!

Wanting a way to take your shamisen out but don’t have room for long hardcase? The soft case is the perfect lightweight alternative for taking your shamisen with you. Can be folded up when not in use. Offers very little protection, so please use caution when taking it outside. Checking your shamisen in baggage with this case is NOT advised.

This case combines the ability to carry the shamisen on your shoulders, while protecting it like a hard case. A hard, thin frame is externally covered with a nylon fabric, and like the hard case, is lavished with cushioning on the inside. It can be checked in baggage. (Though always remove the dou)

If you have a shamisen with a three-piece sao, disassembling it can make the shamisen much smaller and easier to travel with. To safely do this, it’s best to have a case that’s specifically designed to fit and protect a disassembled shamisen. The Mitsuori Case is the right case for the job!

The Mitsuori Case has a soft, padded interior with a sleek nylon exterior (like the Pack Case). Lid of Mitsuori Case has a special compartment for the bachi, and a side pouch for strings and yubikake. Straps connect on the backside for carrying on your back. If you don’t need to carry it on your back, the straps can conveniently slip into a zip-up pouch (shown in pictures). Interior color available in red and blue.

Many a player has enjoyed the classic elegance of black faux-leather with gold-colored latches, and you can too! This case is made in the similar style as most guitar and other instrument cases, with stitched faux-leather exterior and secure latches to hold the lid in place. Straps included for convenient back-schlepping!

This elegant Mitsuori Case greatly differs from the Mitsuori Case above in a few ways.

1. This case has a hard outer shell, whereas the case above is covered with soft nylon. One isn’t better than the other, but one might be more aesthetically pleasing than the other.
2. The inside padding of the Soft Shell Mitsuori Case is molded to fit a standard shamisen, whereas the Hard Shell case has no such molding. The benefit of soft molded foam is the feeling of security. The downside is you can’t put as much inside because the foam takes up space.

From personal observation: most of my professional friends have used this type of Hard Shell Mitsuori Case with no problems. Although the extra foam feels safer, it’s not really necessary for most normal scenarios (as it’s worn on the back and so wouldn’t encounter much shock/trauma). There are ties inside to secure the tenjin and nakazao to the case, so everything is quite secure.

The bachi case is a classy way to keep both your bachi (plectrum) and koma (bridge) safe and secure. This case hold two bachi and can hold about eight koma, as well as your yubikake or strings, if you want. Currently only available in BLACK.
